An Ache A Day
A female friend, who is now a senior citizen, has begun to complain of what she calls the old age pains.
It has become so bad, she says, that she now calls them “her ache a day”.
During our conversations she gives the occasional grimace accompanied by a big grin and with a twinkle in her eyes.
“When I was young, “she says “I followed the dictum CARPE DIEM, which you know means seize the day, now I have to seize the pain. I should look up the Latin for that.”
This time the grin was broader and the twinkle was much brighter.
It made me wonder just what she got up to when she was CARPE DIEM in the old days.
