Racial Profiling?
With the increasing violence and criminal activities among the various fractions of today’s society the suggestion of fractional observation has been raised again.
The howls of the indignant protests from the fractions involved and the self-rightness of those not affected by the criminal acts are predictable.
At the moment, since they outnumber and have more political pressure than the victims they continue to prevail.
Using an extreme example to illustrate the application of common sense, consider this situation.
Imagine a modern city where the population consists of three racial groups. One is Green, one is Purple and the other is Orange.
When the crime statistics are tabulated there is a finding that all the crime in the last year was committed by the Orange people.
It would therefore make complete common sense for the law enforcement officers to target these people’s activities to reduce and try to eliminate serious crimes. It would be an insane situation not to do this.
Yet we continue to ignore the main criminal elements of our society.
It could be charged that by doing this we are fostering the criminals and aiding and encouraging the criminal acts against the victims of these crimes.
Perhaps it would it different if it was called for what it really is — Criminal Profiling.
